From Hydraulic Fault to the Correct Valve Block
1. Confirm the symptom
Slow lift, drift, uneven tilt, overheating or a function that will not hold pressure may point to the valve block, but the pump, cylinder, hose or contaminated oil can create similar symptoms.
2. Isolate the circuit
Pressure readings and function tests help identify whether the fault is before the valve, inside a spool section or after the outlet port.
3. Identify the assembly
Check the part label, truck model and serial number, port positions, spool count, solenoids or mechanical linkage, relief-valve details and mounting pattern.
4. Choose the supply level
Use the original reference where hydraulic settings or interfaces are critical. A verified OEM alternative is considered only when its configuration and performance data can be checked.
Where It Sits and What It Controls
The main control valve is normally installed between the hydraulic pump and the lift, tilt and attachment circuits. A multi-section block may control several functions from one assembly.
Lift section
Controls oil to the lift cylinder and may include lowering control and load-holding features.
Tilt section
Directs oil to the tilt cylinders. Internal leakage may cause mast drift after the external cylinders and hoses have been checked.
Auxiliary section
Supplies side shifters, clamps or other attachments. Extra functions require the correct spool and port arrangement.
Service Checks Before Replacement
