Speed limiting valves for forklifts
Choose the right valve by brand and part number.
A speed limiting valve is used across many forklift brands, but the same component name does not make every valve interchangeable. Use the exact reference, the brand and a clear product photo. We then check the forklift information before preparing a quotation.
Other brands we can check
We also handle forklift parts for Toyota, Linde, Jungheinrich, Mitsubishi and Komatsu. Brand coverage does not replace verification: the exact part number, truck identity and visible connection details still determine the correct quotation.
Send what you have

Forklift hydraulic parts guide
What a forklift speed limiting valve actually does
A hydraulic speed limiting valve controls oil flow so a mast or hydraulic function moves at the intended speed. Depending on the truck design, the part may be a calibrated flow restrictor, a one-way flow-control valve or a hose-rupture/velocity valve. These parts can look similar, but they do not necessarily have the same flow direction, port size, pressure rating or safety function.
Where it is normally fitted
Common positions include the lift-cylinder port, the hydraulic line between the control valve and cylinder, or a dedicated hydraulic valve block. The exact position varies by mast and truck series, so the old valve and the installation point should be photographed before removal.
Why the correct valve matters
An incorrect orifice, spring setting or flow direction can cause slow lifting, excessive lowering speed, jerky mast movement or unwanted heat. A valve used as a hose-failure safety device must never be selected by appearance alone.
What identifies the part
The reliable combination is the valve reference, forklift brand and model, mast or cylinder information, port and thread details, flow direction and clear photographs. A shared product name is not evidence that two valves are interchangeable.
Symptoms worth checking before ordering a replacement
Workshop rule: diagnose the complete hydraulic circuit before blaming the valve. Cylinder seals, mast rollers, hoses, oil contamination and the main control valve can create similar symptoms.
Inspection and maintenance
Before each shift
Look for oil leakage, damaged hoses, loose fittings and abnormal mast lowering. Any uncontrolled movement or sudden change in speed should be investigated before the truck returns to service.
During planned maintenance
Check the hydraulic oil condition, filters, hose routing, mounting security and operating speed. Follow the service interval stated for the exact forklift model; one brand’s interval must not be treated as universal.
After hydraulic work
Bleed and test the circuit as specified by the manufacturer. Confirm controlled operation with the correct test procedure before normal load handling. Never open a pressurised circuit.
The valve does not normally have a universal replacement interval. Condition, oil cleanliness, operating hours and the manufacturer’s service schedule determine when inspection or replacement is required.
Genuine, OEM or aftermarket: which option makes sense?
Genuine part
Recommended when the valve performs a load-holding or hose-failure safety function, when calibration data is unavailable, or when fleet policy requires the original reference. The main value is traceable specification and lower matching risk.
OEM-quality replacement
A practical option when the original manufacturer and full technical specification can be verified. Port, flow direction, pressure range, material, seals and calibrated flow still need to match the application.
Low-cost aftermarket
Suitable only when the application is non-critical and the technical data is complete. A cheap valve becomes expensive if it causes repeated installation work, incorrect mast speed or another period of downtime.
Why market prices vary so widely
Public listings range from low-cost individual restrictors and simple speed-control valves in the tens of US dollars to branded replacement limiters and complete hydraulic valve assemblies costing hundreds or more than one thousand dollars. Those figures are not directly comparable: a small calibrated cartridge, a safety valve and a complete multi-section control valve are different products.
- Part scope: cartridge, line valve, valve block or complete control-valve assembly;
- Supply level: genuine, identifiable OEM, aftermarket or used original;
- Technical requirements: pressure, calibrated flow, port standard, material and seal specification;
- Commercial conditions: quantity, availability, warranty, inspection and international freight.
Price guidance: online figures are useful for understanding the market structure, not for confirming the price of D28B8-60201. A valid quotation requires the exact reference and application evidence.
Information needed for a reliable valve quotation
Send the valve and package labels, forklift model and serial number, mast or cylinder information, port and thread photographs, flow arrow and required quantity. If the number is unreadable, include the old valve beside a ruler and photograph the installation position.

Why the correct match matters
A visually similar valve may use a different reference, port arrangement or forklift configuration. Confirming the exact part helps avoid installation delays and an incorrect replacement.

How to identify the correct forklift speed limiting valve
Check the part number and brand first
Send the number printed on the product label, package or previous purchase record. The brand reference helps us separate parts that share a similar name but belong to different forklift systems.
Confirm the truck before supply
For a reliable quotation, include the forklift brand, model and serial number where shown on the truck or part label. We compare those details with the requested valve reference before we recommend a supply option.
Use the photo to confirm visible details
A clear photo of the valve, label and connectors helps us check the physical layout. If the evidence is incomplete, we will tell you what is still needed instead of guessing.
