Forklift Alternator Selection

Forklift Alternator Selection

Compare the charging voltage and output with the pulley, mounting ears, regulator and connections. A higher current rating or similar casing does not by itself make an alternator a suitable replacement.

Alternator families are a starting point, not a fitment decision

Manufacturer examples and model-dependent fields
Market example Documented distinction Still to confirm
DENSO internal-fan alternator Compact construction with cooling fans within the alternator Exact V/A rating, pulley, mount and connections
DENSO SC alternator Segment-conductor stator winding design Full reference and regulator configuration; SC does not establish an application
DENSO brushless heavy-duty alternator Brushless design documented in the heavy-duty range Exact model, voltage/current curve and mechanical interface
Bosch new and eXchange programs New and remanufactured replacement programs are distinct offerings Exact reference and supplied condition; no Authpart exchange policy is implied

Compare the installed alternator at every interface

Alternator selection map
Field Useful evidence Selection boundary
Engine and part number Engine build/serial; alternator label; any superseding number Engine family alone does not resolve all alternator variants
Voltage and output Nameplate V/A rating and, if available, rated-output conditions Rated output is not guaranteed at every engine speed
Pulley Belt profile, groove count, diameter and offset Correct mounting with the wrong pulley can still misalign the belt
Mounting Pivot/adjustment holes, ear width, spacing and orientation Compare housing offset and bracket arrangement
Connector and regulator Rear view, plug keying, terminal markings and regulator reference Same pin count does not prove the same terminal functions
Rotation and cooling Specified rotation with viewing reference and fan design Do not infer suitability from the alternator’s external shape

A clear package number still needs the unit’s own label

This photo shows the 581200-3411 package reference and an alternator. The existing product page identifies it as an Isuzu C240 application reference. The unit’s own marking must also be read and reconciled before selecting a replacement; the package number alone does not prove its electrical rating.

Separate an alternator order from a charging-system diagnosis

A low-charge complaint can involve the belt, wiring, ground connections, battery or alternator. If a technician has tested the system, include the test result and operating conditions with the inquiry. Do not select an uprated alternator without checking the vehicle’s mounting, drive and electrical requirements.

  • Send the front pulley view, rear connector view and complete nameplate.
  • List each number as printed; no Bosch or DENSO interchange for 581200-3411 is confirmed here.
  • Ask for the supplied condition and included pulley or regulator when they matter to your order. Availability, lead time and commercial terms are quoted separately.

Ask about the part you need

A part number is optional. Start with the information you have.
