Forklift Lithium Battery Selection & Common Battery Configurations
A battery configuration includes physical fit, mass, chemistry and controls—not just volts and amp-hours. Compare documented pack examples with the truck’s battery requirements.
Compare actual packs, not a voltage category
| Pack example | Electrical data | Dimensions L × W × H / mass | Selection consequence |
|---|---|---|---|
| ROYPOW F24160 | 24 V class; nominal 25.6 V; 160 Ah; LiFePO4; 80 A charge current | 624 × 210 × 627 mm; 90 kg | Application: manufacturer forklift-battery example; exact truck to confirm. Connector and BMS protocol: to confirm. Match compartment and required battery mass. |
| ROYPOW F48420AG | 48 V class; nominal 51.2 V; 420 Ah; LiFePO4; 200 A charge current | 950 × 350 × 570 mm; 300 kg | Application: manufacturer forklift-battery example; exact truck to confirm. Connector and BMS protocol: to confirm. Match housing, battery mass and charger. |
| ROYPOW F48420CA | 48 V class; nominal 51.2 V; 420 Ah; LiFePO4 | 970 × 630 × 571.5 mm; 300 kg without counterweight | Application: manufacturer forklift-battery example; exact truck to confirm. Connector, BMS and charge current: to confirm. Match housing and counterweight treatment. |
Values are tied to the named manufacturer documents. They do not establish Authpart availability, truck approval or interchangeability. Dimension order and installed clearances must be checked against the manufacturer’s drawing.
System class and nameplate voltage can differ
The supplied HELI label reads HLHD-76.8-560: 76.8 V, 560 Ah, 43.01 kWh and 394.6 kg. It is referenced within an 80 V system class. Do not replace the printed nameplate identity with a rounded voltage description.
The older HLD spelling conflicts with the photographed HLHD label; it is not a verified alias. Retain both when requesting identification.
Photographed pack values apply to this label only.
A retrofit must preserve the truck requirements
Compartment and weight
Compare the complete enclosure, connector/cable space, lifting arrangements and restraints. The truck’s stated battery mass requirement remains relevant; a lighter replacement is not automatically acceptable. Do not add unspecified ballast.
Controls and charging
Match BMS communication, contactor control, charge/discharge current limits and charger profile. Reusing a lead-acid charger or display requires documented approval, not only a voltage match.
Choose by the operating requirement
Begin with the recorded voltage and chemistry and the truck’s compartment and battery-mass requirements. Capacity and the operating/charging pattern then help compare candidates that meet those constraints. The order still needs the exact pack identity, installation clearances and BMS, truck and charger interfaces reconciled together; any proposed retrofit must retain the documented truck requirements.
| Question | Useful information | Not enough on its own |
|---|---|---|
| Replacement or retrofit? | Existing battery identity, truck model/serial and manufacturer requirements | “48 V forklift” |
| Will it physically fit? | Drawing, length/width/height, installed orientation and cable space | Capacity Ah |
| Is the mass suitable? | Truck battery-mass specification and complete replacement mass | A claim that lithium is lighter |
| Will it communicate? | BMS/vehicle/charger identities and approved interfaces | A connector marked CAN |
| Will it support the shift? | Use pattern, available charge time and current limits | A universal runtime or cycle-life claim |
| Will temperature limit charging? | Exact pack operating and charge-temperature limits | A chemistry name without the pack specification |
Use the complete pack and label together
The existing HELI pack page provides a real product reference. Its housing image is not a dimensional drawing and does not establish fit in another truck.
Complete pack reference; installed dimensions and mass suitability still need confirmation.
Keep the request short
Send the truck nameplate and existing battery nameplate first. Add the compartment dimensions and available charging window if known. Cycle life, warranty and temperature performance are quoted only against evidence for the selected pack.
Ask about the part you need
A part number is optional. Send it if you have it, or choose the identification route that fits your information. No technical field below is required.
