Forklift BMS Selection & Common BMS Architectures
Identify the architecture and the battery configuration before comparing BMS units. Pack voltage, cell-monitoring channels and the BMS auxiliary supply are different specifications.

Read the whole label, including the material code
This A640 label states “All-in-one BMS” and material code P04.07.001.00547. Those are useful identifiers. The photo does not establish cell count, chemistry, charge-current limits, CAN messages or forklift fit.
A535-D has a different material code, P04.07.001.00008. A similar enclosure does not make these units interchangeable.

Keep package references as supporting evidence
The packaging identifies A.06.01.0061; BMS-CBD25J-RLI is supporting reference information. No battery chemistry, current rating or serial-range compatibility is inferred from this package.
Send the old BMS label and battery nameplate together. Qualified service records can identify the installed software and battery configuration without opening a live pack.

Before ordering a replacement BMS
- Obtain complete BMS and battery identifiers; photograph externally accessible labels and connector faces.
- Confirm whether replacement requires parameter transfer, firmware matching or commissioning. A blank/configurable unit is not a configured replacement.
- Keep current sensors, thermistors, harnesses and displays in the request where their part references are known. They are not automatically included.
- A fault message is not proof that the BMS itself has failed. Do not bypass battery protection or open an energized pack to collect information.
No confirmed part number?
If the BMS label is unclear, send the battery nameplate, accessible connector photos and any service record through Find My Part. The battery configuration still needs to be checked before selecting a replacement.
